Whickham will be looking to continue their unbeaten run when they welcome Penrith to The First Mortgage Glebe on Wednesday evening.
The Lang Jacks have turned their form right around, after going on a baron six-game winless streak, and they go into the game having won two of their last three games.
Victories against Bishop Auckland and Silksworth CW was followed up by a goalless draw away to Whitley Bay – their second successive clean-sheet.
Manager Robin Falcus will be hoping to record another three points in the group to put them in a good position for qualifying.
The Opposition
Penrith are coming into the game off the back of three consecutive defeats, against North Shields, Consett and Jarrow.
Just like the Lang Jacks, Penrith have played one game in Group G so far, but started their League Cup campaign with a 3-1 defeat at home to Jarrow.
In the league, after finishing bottom of Division One last season, they currently sit 18th and have won just one game from nine in the league this season.
Pre-Match Interview
Assistant Manager Andrew Bulford said: “I’m very happy to be back playing at home. It’s certainly been a long wait. We’ll be coming back home, getting back onto our pitch and trying to make this place a fortress.”
