Whickham are thrilled to complete the signing of left-back Michael Hoganson as the second new addition to the Lang Jacks squad.
The full-back moves to the First Mortgage Glebe for the 2021/22 after leaving fellow Northern League Division One side West Auckland.
The experienced defender who originally started off in Newcastle United’s youth setup, began his senior career with Championship side Derby County before spending a season on loan in the conference with Alfreton Town.
Hoganson has since travelled back to the North-East to play for the likes of Newcastle Benfield, Spennymoor Town as well as four-year stint at Bishop Auckland before the 27-year old joined Bishop’s rivals West Auckland at the beginning of the 2019/20 campaign.

Michael said: “I’m very excited, it’s a club that I’ve had on my mind to sign for a couple of years, I know Con (Mark Convery) has tried to sign me a few times so I finally made the decision to sign and be a lot closer to home anyway.”
Convery added: “We are very pleased to sign Michael Hoganson. He’s got experience in this league and is very comfortable on the ball. He fits into the type of player we want at the club and we’re looking forward to the games and hopefully a very successful season.”
Hoganson joins goalkeeper Jack Norton in signing for the club ahead of the new campaign.
