Northallerton v Whickham: Lang Jacks look for immediate response to Saturday’s disappointment

After suffering their first defeat of the calendar year at the hands of Seaham last time out, Whickham look for a quick response as they travel to face Northallerton in their penultimate away fixture of the season.

With Wednesday’s opponents sitting a lowely 17th in the Ebac Northern League, manager Tony Fawcett and the lads will be confident that they can pull off a result. However, the game is played on the pitch, not on paper and thus he’ll be looking for complete professionalism.

Saturday’s defeat is bound to have left a sour taste in the mouth of everyone involved, as it’s their only defeat in the last five games. Northallerton are also on a very good run of form, unbeaten in their last five and pulling away from teams at the bottom of the table.

There are no new injury concerns to reports, and with players wanting to prove themselves after Saturday, there’s bound to be lots of competition for places, giving the gaffer plenty of food for thought.

Get behind the boys tomorrow evening as they look for a quick response and look to finish as high up the table as possible!
