Match Preview – Whickham FC vs Crook Town

The Lang Jacks welcome Crook Town to the First Mortgage Glebe for their first home match of the season.

Tony Fawcett’s team started their season off in fine form with a 3-0 away victory against Tow Law Town on Saturday.

Goals from Kaleb Young, Joey Smith and Stephen Hall wrapped up all three points.

Meanwhile, the visitors claimed a point in an end-to-end six-goal thriller away to Northallerton Town.

In an entertaining feisty game which produced four penalties, an own goal and two red cards the match ended as a draw after a late Northallerton equaliser.

Crook duo David Webb and Joe Lamb both received red cards. We expect both players to feature in tonight’s match before their suspension commences.

Tony Fawcett could hand home debuts to Nathan Harker, Mitchell Ramsay, Harry Yoxall, Stephen Hall, and Joey Smith with all players available for selection tonight.

Whickham midfielder Shay Richardson could also make his first appearance at the First Mortgage Glebe after completing his one-match suspension.

There could also be a return for club captain Ross Peareth, and defenders Tomas Howard and Jack Moody who were all unavailable at the weekend.

Whickham striker Jack Robson will face a late fitness test following a knock picked up during pre-season.

In the reverse fixture last season, it was Whickham who took all three points after a hard-fought 1-0 home victory.

The match will kick off at 7.30 pm, tickets are available at the entrance gate. £7 for adults and £4 for concessions.
