Whickham capture quartet of signings!

We are delighted to announce the signings of Ryan Lincoln-Barrow, Dan Marriott, Joe Bates and Isaac Gamblin.

Ryan Lincoln-Barrow

Lincoln-Barrow is an attacking full-back who joins from Easington.

After joining he said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be here and push myself in division 1.

“Hopefully I can help the team as much as possible to push on from what the lads achieved last season.”

Manager Lee Haldane said: “Ryan is a player I’ve worked with in the past and we trust 100%. He’s whole hearted backed up with a huge will to win. The step up shouldn’t be an issue.”

Dan Marriott is a winger who joins from Tow Law.

He is confident of a successful season: “I’m very excited to be at the club and get started.

“After seeing the lads already I’m confident we can better last season and get into the top 4 for the playoffs.”

Joe Bates joins from Esh Winning and is a centre forward.

He is relishing the chance to play for the club: “As soon as Lee contacted me about joining Whickham, it didn’t take much convincing.

“The season they had last year when the management came in and the plans they have for the upcoming season, it was a no brainer for me.

“I feel fit and ready and hopefully can be a big help and score goals and finish as high as possible in the table.”

Haldane said: “Joe will add a completely different dimension to our team.

“He scored a lot of goals for Esh last season and we will be a huge asset to us.”

Isaac Gamblin is a defender who is formerly of Newcastle United Academy.

He said: “I’m over the moon to be signing for such a fantastic club. The lads have all been great from day one and I can’t wait to get the season going.

“There’s a real togetherness to the group and I’ve no doubt we’ll have a successful season.”

Haldane backs his new signing: “Isaac is looking to put the last few years behind him and kick back on.

“His technical ability is second to none and we will work with him to get back to his levels.”
